Reflection Session #4: Jasmine Revolution
Special Guests: Karim Hamdy & Laura Rice
Tuesday, December 8, 2020
6-7:30pm Central / 7-8:30pm Eastern
In September 2020, Art2Action launched a year-long series of "Reflection Sessions" on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, leading up to the 20th Anniversary of 9/11. Presented by The Carver Community Cultural Center, in conjunction with our 2021 community-engaged theatre project "Eleven Reflections: San Antonio," the online Reflection Sessions are live, interactive, art-based, participatory events reflecting on our nation in the post-9/11 era. Each session will be grounded in a performance excerpt from Eleven Reflections on September, by Andrea Assaf, with guest artists, creative prompts, and facilitated dialogue.
The December 8th episode, "Jasmin Revolution," features performance video of the poem "Traveling" from Eleven Reflections, with special guests Karim Hamdy and Laura Rice, reading from their co-edited and translated collection Revolutions in Tunisian Poetry (Pacifica: Poetry International, 2015), in honor of the 10th anniversary of the Tunisian Revolution. Join us for a special evening of creativity and community.
