Co-presented by Art2Action, iTouch Band, and the USF School of Music, as part of the R&R Arts Festival, TOUCH: The Love Concert features a new composition based on the stories of veterans in Tampa, and a special pre-show performance by “The War & Treaty” music ensemble, founded by Iraq war veteran & singer-songwriter Michael Trotter, Jr.

Touch, USF’s iPad Band, will perform a wide range of musical styles and experiences involving the theme of Love, with various special guests. Touch will be joined by faculty and students from the School of Theatre and Dance, including Dora Arreola and Merry Lynn Morris, and from the School of Visual Art and Art History at USF, as well as the School of Music’s own Tones of Gold.

A feature piece during the concert will be a multi-arts presentation titled “Indelible: Veteran Love Stories” which was created through a process of Story Circles with local veterans in the Tampa area (facilitated and compiled by Andrea Assaf, in collaboration with The Carpetbag Theatre). All merchandise sold during the concert will benefit Military Support Outreach (MSO), a Tampa-based origanization that assists disadvantaged veterans in transitioning out of homelessness.

This performance is presented in conjunction with the 4th National Summit on Arts & Health in the Military, co-organized by Americans for the Arts.
